Choosing The Right Eyeglasses
At SPEX, we know that you spend a lot of time wearing your eyeglasses each day. Your glasses also play a huge role in the type of image that you project to others. Choosing the right pair is very important, which is why our eye doctor, Dr. Campbell, is offering these tips.
Face Shape and Size
Determine if your face is mostly angular or soft and curvaceous. Eyeglass frames that contrast your facial features will provide you with a more balanced look. If you have a round or oval face, you’ll want square or rectangular frames, but you’ll need round or oval frames if your face is diamond or rectangular shaped.
Thin, narrow faces can benefit from wider frames with decorative features along the sides or temples. Wide faces, on the other hand, should draw attention to the center of your face rather than the temples. The size of your face matters as well. Ideally, your frames should sit at or below the eyebrow level. They should also appear proportional to the rest of your face so that they are neither too large nor too small.
Cool Vs Warm Colors
Choose gold or earth-toned frames if you have a warm skin tone. A warm skin tone is characterized by green-colored veins, brown eyes, and skin that tans easily in the sun. Pick eyeglasses in cool colors like blue or silver if you have a cool skin tone. Those with cool skin tones are generally fair-skinned with blue or green eyes and blue-colored veins.
